Wilkin Guge Marketing Nabs Former
L.A. Times
Researcher,
Well-known Los Angeles Print Manager

CLAREMONT, Calif., September 28, 2005 – In an effort to meet the needs of its expanding client base, Wilkin Guge Marketing is pleased to welcome Director of Research Greg Timpany and Production Manager Patricia Mancillas to its growing team of strategic brand managers.

“We are thrilled to add these top professionals with big market expertise to our team,” said Gail Guge, managing partner and brand strategist of Wilkin Guge Marketing. “Pat brings two decades of production management experience with large L.A. agencies in producing materials for top brands. And with Greg joining us as the former lead researcher for the L.A. Times, he probably knows the Southern California market better than anyone else. We have greatly expanded our production and research capabilities.”

Both new hires come directly from the Los Angeles market, and both have exemplary records of successfully delivering bottom-line results to their clients.

Greg Timpany comes to Wilkin Guge Marketing with over 12 years of marketing and analytic experience. His industry background includes both business to consumer as well as business to business. Prior to joining Wilkin Guge, he was employed by The Los Angeles Times, where he guided the analytics efforts of its marketing planning and database marketing departments. While at the Times, he developed a transaction-based market segmentation model that led to a $1 million savings in postal expenses and increased response rates by 55 percent. He also created predictive response models for telesales, direct marketing and retention that generated average increases in conversion of 45 percent.

Formerly, Timpany worked with DynCorp on the Census data collection project, with the Inland Empire Economic Partnership managing their public relations and marketing efforts, with Omnitrans studying rider behavior in the public transit market and with the Riverside County Schools Credit Union developing marketing and special events programming. His educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and economics, an M.B.A. in marketing and information management and a certificate in geographic information systems from California State University, San Bernardino. His research interests include the use of survival analysis for churn management and demographic modeling.

Patricia Mancillas comes to Wilkin Guge Marketing with over 26 years of production management experience, specializing in agency and corporate print production, during which time, she was responsible for everything from project coordination and trafficking to vendor negotiations and print production quality control.

Prior to spending four years as a freelance print production manager consulting for both corporate clients and agencies, Mancillas worked with McCann-Erickson as the agency’s print production manager, where she was responsible for managing all jobs processed in the agency’s studio as well as day-to-day job tracking, scheduling and estimating. While there, her clients included In-N-Out Burger, Boeing Aircraft, Lowe’s, Cathay Airlines, Beverly Hills Hotel and Nestle/Carnation.

Mancillas has also worked with Dynamedia, Toyota Motor Sales, Jacobs and Gerber Advertising, Kaiser McEuen (Los Angeles), Dancer Fitzgerald and Foote, Cone & Belding, managing projects for clients including Union 76, Paramount Domestic Television, CBS-TV, Essence Magazine, Zenith TV, Hilton Hotels, Universal Studios Tour, the Universal Amphitheater and Yosemite National Park.
